Like so many other Seattle residents, if you have immigrated to this country recently you may have many questions about your residency status in the United States. Questions about residency statuses may prevent lessees from signing longer term leases.
Have peace of mind that in the event that your residency status no longer allows you to reside within the United States, you will have the option to terminate your lease with a 66% reduced lease termination penalty. *
You are not required to participate in this benefit; however, to participate in the Immigration Peace of Mind Benefit:
- Prior to signing your lease, you must provide immigration documentation indicating that the immigration status of all lessees is valid for 10 months from the initial lease signing date.
- The Immigration Peace of Mind Benefit will be added to the appendix of your lease for both the lessor and lessees to sign.
- Upon taking advantage of this benefit while terminating your lease, you must provide documentation indicating that the immigration status of one of the lessees is no longer valid.
*Not all properties may qualify for this Immigration Peace of Mind Benefit.
